Required Steps
- Complete a graduate application: You may complete and submit the Graduate Studies Application online.
- Submit your official college transcripts: Check with your undergraduate registrar to have official transcripts sent to us at grad.studies@furman.edu. If you are already a Furman student, we will have your transcripts.
- Additional application requirements may vary by program: Check program pages for additional requirements or begin your application and follow all prompts.

Our portfolio-style program prepares students with a robust understanding in design theory, research methods, and applied practice in creative media, focusing on integrated communication management and strategy. Take classes full-time or part-time!
Cost
$950 per credit, or $39,900 total.
Admission/Application Requirements
Available start terms: Fall, Spring, Summer
- A graduate admissions application, accompanied by a one-time, non-refundable application fee of $75 (*fee waived if submitted by early application deadline)
- Two recommendations (submitted through a link sent to each recommender)
- Portfolio of 3-5 pieces of previous creative work
- Statement of intent (400-500 words)
- Minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.5 (2.75 preferred) or with permission of the Program Director upon application and/or appeal.
- Official transcripts from each higher education institution previously attended
- Evidence of competency in digital technology (i.e. Photoshop or like platforms) as measured by courses taken through undergraduate, portfolio pieces, or through the interview process.
- Admission interview conducted via Zoom once all other application materials are submitted
- Optional: GRE scores
We are seeking students who wish to actively participate in conversations regarding advocacy and equity, then work towards making tangible change within our communities. Take classes full-time, part-time, or accelerated (starting Summer 2024)!

$770 per credit, or $27,720 total.

- Minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0, or two years of relevant work experience

Admission/Application Requirements

- A graduate admissions application, accompanied by a one-time, non-refundable application fee of $85
- Official transcripts from each higher education institution previously attended
- Minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0
- Have successfully completed introductory courses in:
- Biology (two terms)
- Chemistry (two terms)
- Organic chemistry (one term, with two terms strongly recommended)
- Three recommendations (submitted through a link sent to each recommender) *one academic reference is recommended*
- Optional: MCAT, DAT, and/or GRE scores
Cost
$425 per credit, or $14,025 total.
Admission/Application Requirements
Available start term: Summer
- A graduate admissions application, accompanied by a one-time, non-refundable application fee of $55
- Official transcripts from each higher education institution previously attended
- To assess content preparation, transcripts will be internally evaluated and must include 30 semester hours in a critical needs content area
- Minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.75 (3.0 preferred)
- Praxis II content exam passing score
- Writing sample (200-300 words on why you would like to become a teacher)
- Two recommendations (submitted through a link sent to each recommender)
- Background check
- Admissions interview conducted via Zoom
Professional Licensure Disclosure
If you reside outside of South Carolina and are interested in completing an online or distance-education program with Furman University that leads to a professional license or certification in your home state, it is imperative that you understand the regulations and requirements for your home state prior to enrolling in any academic program.
Furman’s Teacher Education programs meet the state educational requirements for licensure or certification in South Carolina and are approved by the South Carolina Department of Education. While South Carolina has a reciprocity agreement with most states, applicants would want to verify with their State Department of Education that a Furman degree would meet their state’s specific requirements and be accepted for certification in their state.
