Undergraduate Research

Here, education is experience. When you come to Furman, you’ll integrate immersive experiences in our nationally awarded research program with the knowledge you’ve gained inside the classroom. This deliberate approach means you’ll be able to tailor and refine your education to match your personal and professional goals—and learn from the entire experience. Our faculty mentors serve as guides, ensuring you leave with the passion and skills to achieve a fulfilling life and rewarding career. Have a question? Contact us.

Student Opportunity Center

The Student Opportunity Center specializes in compiling research and publication opportunities for undergraduates. Register with your Furman email address to gain access. On the upper right-hand side under your name choose “student app” and a search bar will show up at the top. The SOC has a host of pre-populated search words that you can choose from in a drop-down box. You will then see on the left-hand side the kinds of opportunities you can choose from—conferences, publications, off-campus research/internships and funding/scholarships.
