Meet our public education team

Two Riley Institute leadership development opportunities—the White-Riley-Peterson (WRP) Policy Fellowship and South Carolina Afterschool Leaders Empowered (SCALE) Fellowship—teach afterschool professionals across the state and nation how to advance programming through public policy and capacity building.

Public school educators teaching social studies and civics may be interested in Teachers of Government, a competitive summer program that takes place in Washington, D.C., and focuses on how to make these subjects more compelling and relevant in our state’s middle and high schools.

The Riley Institute’s Research and Strategic Learning Group promotes evidence-informed practices and policies and supports entities that serve children and families across South Carolina. We provide a range of services, with special research focus on public Montessori education; personalized, competency-based learning; innovative models in public education; and supporting public school teachers and students.
