The Riley Institute’s Research and Strategic Learning Group promotes evidence-informed practices and policies and supports entities that serve children and families across South Carolina. Our commitment to equitable outcomes underlies our work. In this spirit, we offer the following services:

Meet Our Director of Research and Strategic Learning
Dr. Brooke Culclasure has been with the Riley Institute for over 20 years. She oversees all research projects and strategic learning initiatives in the institute. Her research interests include Montessori education in the public sector, project-based learning, and innovative education models that support equitable outcomes for all children. Dr. Culclasure also is a lecturer in the Politics and International Affairs Department at Furman University and an editorial board member for the Journal of Montessori Research.
Dr. Culclasure holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Richmond, master’s degrees from the University of Virginia and the University of South Carolina, and a Ph.D. from the University of Virginia.
