General Admission Requirements
To be admitted to our Graduate Studies in Education program, you must meet the following requirements before you can apply for admission:
- A South Carolina teaching license or equivalent (or eligible for licensure). Note: Professional level license is needed for School Leadership programs, and Admin certification is needed for the EdS in Educational Leadership program.
- An undergraduate degree from an accredited institution or a Teacher Education Program that is recognized by the South Carolina Department of Education.
- A minimum GPA of 2.75 in undergraduate coursework (3.0 preferred).

Please note: Furman cannot guarantee full-time enrollment or face-to-face classes each term, so we will not issue Form I-20 for Graduate Studies in Education programs.
