Bleeding Trauma kit

Bleeding

Apply direct pressure to the inflicted site and maintain constant pressure. If the bleeding is on a limb, consider applying a tourniquet. Ensure that you have located the source and not just an area with a lot of blood.

CPR

Person is unresponsive and/or not breathing

  1. Make sure the scene is safe
  2. Check for responsiveness: breathing, response to touch, response to yelling
  3. If needed, locate the nearest AED and activate protocol
  4. Either you or someone else calls campus police or 911 immediately

Medical Emergency

Call campus police or 911 as soon as possible. Give them the following information;

  • Your location
  • A description of the incident
  • Describe the injury or the illness and the number of people involved
  • Remain on the phone until the dispatcher disconnects you
