Response

If you discover smoke or fire, or hear a fire alarm, evacuate everyone immediately outdoors. Pull the fire alarm if it has not yet gone off. When leaving a room, feel the door with the back of your hand – do not open any door that feels hot. If there is smoke, stay low to the ground for better air. Do not return for personal belongings. Do not use elevators.

If you catch on fire, stop, drop, and roll.

If you are trapped in a room, attempt to seal cracks where smoke may enter with wet materials, like jackets and towels. Stay near a window, only breaking it as a last resort. Use caution when breaking windows.

If the fire is small enough where it can be extinguished with a fire extinguisher, use it! Pull the pin, aim at the fire, squeeze the lever, and spray in a sweeping motion.
