Future Residents

As a freshman, you’ll be matched with a roommate in one of our freshman residence halls. Most freshmen are housed in South Housing. Our Residential Living Profile helps us match you with someone who has similar living styles, a process that has proved very successful. Not knowing your roommate may seem intimidating at first, but it’s a great way to meet new friends and get involved in new activities.

Important Dates and Deadlines 2026-2027

Residential Living Profile Opens	Once you have Furman credentials
Deadline to Apply for Accommodations through SOAR	June 1, 2026
Deadline to Submit Residential Living Profile	June 10, 2025 at 5:00pm
New Student Housing Assignments Released	By Independence Day

Most of our students are assigned to South Housing. Our new student assignments process will match you with a roommate with similar lifestyle preferences and randomly assign you to a space. Because every freshman will have an RA and FRAD responsible for building community on the floor and forming a relationship with each student, we do not accept building preferences.

To submit your Residential Living Profile, login to your Housing Self Service Portal using your Furman username and password. If you have yet to receive this information, please contact the ITS Service Center at [email protected].

Once you are logged into your Housing Self-Service Portal:

Select the “Personal Information” tab
Click “My Info”
Choose the “Fall 2026” term
Answer all questions and click “Save”
You can update your preferences at any time prior to 5pm on June 10th
