As a freshman, you’ll be matched with a roommate in one of our freshman residence halls or learning communities. Most of our freshmen housing is in South Housing. Our detailed questionnaire helps us match you with someone who has similar interests, a process that has proved very successful. Not knowing your roommate may seem intimidating at first, but it’s a great way to meet new friends and get involved in new activities.
Most of our students are assigned to South Housing. Our incoming student assignments process will match you with a roommate with similar lifestyle preferences and assign you to a space. Because every freshman will have an RA and FRAD responsible for building community on the floor and forming a relationship with each student, we do not accept building preferences.”
Engaged Living, Furman’s living and learning community for first-year students, is available to students interested in enhancing their education and becoming more involved in our campus community. If you’re interested, you’ll need to complete the Engaged Living application. Apply for Engaged Living.
