Caterisano to be inducted into National Wrestling HOF

Earlier this year, Furman University’s Tony Caterisano was named to the class of 2024 National Wrestling Hall of Fame. Caterisano, a professor of health sciences and 40-year veteran with the university, served as head wrestling coach 1984-1991 and saw Marty Fajerman ’91 crowned Southern Conference Champion under his leadership. He also coached in Greenville County Schools, at Christ Church Episcopal School and at Spartanburg Methodist College. He served as a South Carolina High School League wrestling official for more than a decade.

Receiving the Lifetime Service to Wrestling Award from the South Carolina chapter, Caterisano will be officially recognized during the 47th Honors Weekend on May 31 and June 1 in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
