The Furman Choirs present numerous performances each school year, often collaborating with distinguished faculty, guest artists, and other ensembles. Performances take place on and off campus, provide solo opportunities for many singers, and afford students a unique community.

Furman Singers
Furman Singers is Furman University’s flagship choir, bringing together students from diverse academic backgrounds who share a passion for choral music. Since its founding in 1946, the ensemble has captivated audiences with a wide-ranging repertoire spanning centuries, styles, and languages – expressing the human experience through the power of song. The choir maintains a strong presence on campus, tours annually across the U.S. and abroad, and frequently collaborates with the Furman Symphony Orchestra and Furman Symphonic Band.
Auditions and Registration:
Auditions are held annually and are open to all current Furman students, regardless of major. Students admitted to Furman Singers register for MUS 062-01 (0-credit) or MUS 162-01 (1-credit) – contact the Music Department for details.
Rehearsals:
Furman Singers rehearses Tuesday/Thursday from 4-6 PM.

Belle Voci
Belle Voci (Beautiful Voices), Furman University’s treble choir, is open to students who are passionate about singing and building community through music. The ensemble explores a wide range of choral repertoire- from classical to contemporary- while emphasizing the art of expressive, beautiful singing. Belle Voci offers a welcoming and supportive environment where students can grow as musicians, scholars, and collaborators, regardless of major.
Auditions and Registration:
Auditions for Belle Voci are held on a rolling basis. and are open to all Furman students (who are treble voices), regardless of major. Students admitted to Belle Voci register for MUS 064-01 (0-credit) or MUS 164-01 (1-credit) – contact the Music Department for details.
Rehearsals:
Belle Voci rehearses Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1-2:15 PM.

Belle Voci, Fall 2022
Chamber Choir
The Furman Chamber Choir is a select mixed-voice ensemble featuring some of Furman’s finest singers. In collaboration with the Office of Spiritual Life, the choir presents two annual liturgical concerts: “A Service of Lessons & Carols (December), a tradition begun in 1996 with the opening of the Charles E. Daniel Memorial Chapel, and “A Palm & Passion Service of Lesson and Song” (Palm Sunday). Beyond these cornerstone events, the choir performs a variety of projects-from chamber masterworks to appearances at the Furman Church Music Conference. Its repertoire spans accompanied and a cappella works from the Renaissance to contemporary choral music.
Auditions and Registration:
Auditions are held at the start of each semester by request or invitation. Â Students admitted to Chamber Choir Register for MUS 065-01.
Rehearsals:
The Chamber Choir rehearses Monday/Wednesday from 2:30-3:20 PM.

Oratorio Chorus
The oratorio chorus is comprised of members of Furman Singers and Belle Voci, who join forces with the Furman Symphony Orchestra to provide masterworks concerts for the Greenville community. Recent collaborations include the bi-annual performance of Handel’s Messiah, and Vivaldi’s Gloria, and Respighi’s Laud to the Nativity.

Young Artist Vocal Experience
June 21-26, 2026
YAVE is an intensive one-week summer workshop for talented singers ages 14-18. Board or Commute. Vocal styles taught: musical theater, opera, sacred, art song, oratorio. Participants have the opportunity to develop their skills through voice classes, acting classes, master classes, student recitals, faculty recitals, alumni recitals and special topic sessions. Instructors are Furman University voice faculty and Furman vocal performance alumni. Private lessons are available for an additional fee. Learn more about YAVE!
Voice Day
October 3, 2026
Open to students in grades 8-12 who are interested in studying voice and sharpening their performance skills. This one-day workshop will prepare students for competition, college auditions, and school performances. Sessions are available for both teachers and students. Learn more about Voice Day!
