Communities form around agreed upon expectations of membership. Accountability to those expectations allows the community and its members to thrive. Serving on the Board is a chance to play a pivotal role in the life of Furman. And, employers and graduate schools are actively seeking undergraduates who have excellent leadership, communication, and conflict-management skills as well as the ability to think critically and work cooperatively with others. These are skills Board members put into practice routinely.
