The Annual Performance Evaluation is a comprehensive tool for supervisors to evaluate a staff member’s performance during a review period and identify objectives for development. It is intended to facilitate meaningful communication between a supervisor and a staff member regarding the supervisor’s performance expectations and the staff member’s work, individual and departmental goals, and the staff member/supervisor relationship.

University policy 817.91 (Staff Annual Performance Evaluation) governs the evaluation process. The policy addresses goal setting, competencies, and the procedures for completing the written evaluation.

The evaluation period is April 1 through March 31.  The written evaluation, which is completed using the Workday® Human Capital Management application, is available for initiation by the supervisor when notified by the Office of Human Resources every year.

Below are resources to assist in the Annual Performance Evaluation Process by category.  Any questions regarding the evaluation process or the completion of the written evaluation may be sent to [email protected].
