To hire a Graduate Assistant in your office/program, follow these steps:

Note: All graduate assistantship work is expected to be completed in person, on campus.

1.  Fill out the form below by providing general information about the Graduate Assistantship opportunity. You’ll be asked to complete and upload a detailed job description that will be shared with potential Graduate Assistants.  *Note: Creating a job description will provide clarity to Graduate Assistantship applicants so they know what type of opportunity they are applying for. Job descriptions will also provide clarity for you and your office/program so you can attract students interested in the specific opportunity you are providing.

2. Helen Reynolds, assistant director of graduate studies, will forward résumés to departments offering Graduate Assistantships, and departments will be responsible for interviewing and hiring their Graduate Assistants.

3. Once a Graduate Assistant has been hired, email the following information to Helen via email: student name, start/end date, pay rate and cost center funding the Graduate Assistantship.

4. Helen will administratively hire the student in Workday and coordinate onboarding communication. *Note: a student cannot be hired in Workday until they have accepted their offer of admission.
