What is an apostille?
An apostille certifies that a document is a true copy of the original. Official documents that will be used outside of the United States often require an apostille. Apostilles are granted by the Secretary of State of the state in which the university is located. All Furman University transcripts and diplomas that receive an apostille are certified through the South Carolina Secretary of State’s office.
How to get an apostille:
Furman University processes apostille requests for former students through a partnership with Parchment. The online order form allows Furman alumni to securely request a physical, official copy of their Furman University diploma and transcript, to be submitted to the South Carolina Secretary of State’s office for review and certification.
Once an order is submitted through Parchment, apostilled documents take approximately three months to ship to the alumnus.
Furman University will not accept Apostille Certification requests via phone, mail, fax, or email. Questions can be directed to the Enrollment Services office at [email protected] or 864-294-2030.
