Furman University is partnering with Coursera Career Academy and Google to offer industry credentials to Furman students at no cost. It is a simple, free and effective method of gaining experience before graduation. All of the certificate programs offered are online and self-paced with under 10 hours of flexible study per week and permit you to finish in 3-6 months. Each certification is developed to include applicable projects and assessments to give you real-world experience that you can include on your next job application, in addition to the digital certification.
All of the certifications offer foundational-level content, giving you the capabilities of exploring a new area of interest or add to the university work you’re already completing. Learn a new set of skills in an area adjacent to your studies and gain a digital certificate of completion–and see how having industry-recognized professional credentials coupled with a completed degree prepares you to take on the world outside of Furman and highlights you to stand out among the rest.

The Google Coursera class on cybersecurity provides foundational knowledge and practical skills to help students understand key concepts and techniques for protecting digital information and systems from cyber threats.
Data Analytics
The Google Coursera class on data analytics equips students with essential skills to collect, analyze, and interpret data using tools and techniques developed by industry professionals.
Digital Marketing & E-Commerce
The Google Coursera class on e-commerce and digital marketing teaches strategies for building and promoting online businesses, focusing on key marketing techniques, tools, and platforms to drive growth and sales.
IT Support
The Coursera Google class on IT Support is an entry-level program that covers troubleshooting, networking, system administration, security, and customer service skills to prepare students for a career in IT support.
Project Management
The Coursera Google Project Management class teaches students essential project management concepts, risk management, stakeholder communication, and process improvement to prepare them for a career in project management.
UX DESIGN
The Coursera Google UX Design class teaches students the fundamentals of user experience design, including wireframing, prototyping, usability testing, and design thinking, to prepare them for a career in UX design.
