The Paladin Regiment Marching Band

Marching band is one of the most unique activities in which a college student can be involved. Where else can students learn to work with others whose major area of study is completely different from their own and where a freshman can perform alongside a senior on a regular basis? Where else can a student work with other students and faculty and develop relationships that last throughout their entire college careers? Where else can students work together to create art while entertaining a crowd and supporting their university? Only in college marching band!

Open to all Furman and Greenville Tech woodwind, brass, and percussion student musicians as well as dancers, twirlers, and colorguard, the Paladin Regiment Marching Band is comprised of students from across campus. In the fall, the marching band rehearses only 4 hours a week (Wednesdays and Fridays from 4-6 p.m.)– after a five-day band camp before classes begin– and performs for home football games and select exhibition and parade performances. Furman Bands also participate in exciting travel opportunities biennially. Recent performance trips include travel to Ireland and Hawaii.

Students in the band should register for MUS 061-01 (0-credit) or MUS 161-01 (1-credit) Furman Bands (contact the Music Department for details).

Make music. Make friends. Make memories. Join the Paladin Regiment.
