Location: Timmons Arena Side Parking Area (located on the right side of the arena next to the campus back gate)
**Prisma Health will have a self-contained, 42-foot RV on campus which will provide state-of-the art digital mammography screening services.**
Please follow the instructions below to schedule an appointment and complete the patient info form for pre-registration no later than Monday, October 16, 2023.

2. Complete the patient info form and return via email to Mobile.Mammography@prismahealth.org no later than Monday, October 16, 2023.
Furman’s medical plan through Blue Cross Blue Shield(BCBS) does cover 3D mammograms. As a reminder, now that our BCBS medical plan is fully-insured, eligibility is based on guidelines below.
For those not covered on Furman’s BCBS plan, please check with your insurance provider before screening for plan eligibility and coverage for a 3D screening mammogram.
Eligibility guidelines for screening mammography:
- 40+ years old (recommended by College of Radiology)
- Not breastfeeding (at least 6 months post-breastfeeding).
- Have not had a mammogram this calendar year.
- No breast problems such as distinct lumps, nipple discharge, redness or enlarged breasts.
- Can use the clinic stairs and stand for 10–15 minutes without help.
Other Important Details:
- You will visit the Mobile Mammography unit on Furman’s campus during your appointment time.
- Each mammogram typically takes about 15-30 minutes. Walk-ins are not accepted.
- Bring your insurance card and picture ID to your appointment.
- All faculty and staff and spouses/domestic partners are able to participate in this event.
Please follow these guidelines to prepare for your mammogram:
- Wear a two-piece outfit.
- Do not put lotion or powder on your breasts or underarms.
- Do not wear perfume.
- Apply deodorant sparingly.
