What is physical wellbeing?

Physical wellbeing includes good physical fitness and confidence in personal ability to take care of health problems. Possessing adequate strength, endurance, and mobility to participate to fulfill occupational efforts, recreational pursuits, and family obligations is a key aspect of physical wellbeing.

Physically well people...

  • Eat 4-5 servings of fruits and vegetables every day
  • Get at least 30 minutes of vigorous exercise daily
  • See a doctor for routine check ups
  • Get tested every 6-months for STIs
  • Sleep at least 7 hours a night
  • Listen to their body when they are hungry, thirsty, tired, etc…
  • Stay hydrated

Check in with your physical wellbeing by asking yourself these questions:

  • Do I eat a balanced diet that includes fruits, vegetables and whole grains?
  • Do I moderate or limit my use of alcohol and other drugs?
  • Do I get at least 7 hours of sleep per night?
  • Do I try to exercise/move my body at least 3-5 times per week?
  • Do I get routine check ups by my doctor?

These are easy things you can do to better your physical wellbeing

  • Eat at least one serving of fruits or vegetables with every meal
  • Download the HeadSpace app and utilize their sleep tools
  • Go to the PAC and join one of their group exercise classes
  • Make an appointment with the Earle Student Health Center
  • Take a walk around the lake by yourself or with friends
