50th Reunion Commencement Procession
We are delighted to invite the Class of 1976 back to campus and the “Mountain City” to celebrate your 50th reunion! This year’s reunion class will be honored in grand fashion at both Commencement on Saturday, May 9, and Homecoming & Reunion Weekend in October.
Information regarding the Commencement Procession, in addition to a registration form, can be found below. We hope you will be able to join us and celebrate with your classmates!
The 50th reunion class is invited to participate in the time-honored tradition of leading the graduating seniors into Furman’s Paladin Stadium. All participating alumni will receive academic regalia to wear during the procession. A wine reception and dinner honoring the Class of 1976 will be hosted by the Alumni Association prior to the ceremony.
If you are able to join us for the procession, please register using the form below no later than Friday, March 20. Attending guests will receive additional correspondence and detailed information via email in early April.

Can I bring a guest?
Yes! Alumni from the Class of 1976 are invited to attend the Commencement Procession with one guest each.
Is there a cost to attend?
No.
Can I register to join the Commencement Procession after March 20?
No. Due to important deadlines for regalia orders and printed materials, all guests participating in the ceremony must RSVP by Friday, March 20.
Is the Commencement Procession replacing our reunion?
The Commencement Procession is one of Furman’s most meaningful traditions and is the first part of a two-part reunion celebration. 50th Reunion guests will still be invited to gather over Homecoming & Reunion Weekend in October.
What time is the event?
The evening will begin at 4:00 p.m. with a wine reception and will wrap up around 8:30 p.m. A full schedule and additional details and the rain plan will be sent to all registered guests in early April.

I will be traveling from out-of-town. Does Furman offer any hotel discounts?
If you plan on staying the night in Greenville and need accommodations, please be sure to check out one of our partner hotels. Please note that discounts available through the sponsor hotels are subject to availability.
I want to help plan my reunion in the fall. How do I do that?
If you are interested in serving as a reunion volunteer, please email Lauren Pollino, [email protected] directly. Volunteers will help the Alumni Office connect with classmates, spread the word about Homecoming, and plan gatherings for your class.
