History major Abigail Hartman (’17) presented a paper at the Sixteenth-Century Studies Conference, a world-class scholarly conference typically not open to undergraduates, in Bruges, Belgium, in August 2016.

Curating an exhibit

Students Tyler Edmond (’17) and Helen Mistler (’19) curated an exhibit exploring the contributions Furman and Greenville made to the World War I effort and the impact of the war on Furman and the surrounding community, with a focus on women’s roles, race, military service, and nationalism.

Abigail Hartman (’17) co-edited an academic sourcebook “Signs and Wonders in Britain’s Age of Revolution” with Professor Timothy Fehler.

History major Katie Wooten (’20) was granted access to the Royal Archives at Windsor to work with King George III’s original correspondence for her research project about his long journey to recovery from mental illness.
