Our faculty are dedicated, award-winning teachers who represent many diverse approaches to the study of history and specialize in a variety of geographical regions and time periods. Our department is honored to be home to five recipients of the Alester G. Furman Jr. and Janie Earle Furman Award for Meritorious Teaching and two recipients of the Alester G. Furman Jr. and Janie Earle Furman Award for Meritorious Advising.
