Sustainable and Strong Future

Moving Forward

The investments and efforts by Furman and its many supporters to advance the university and secure its future speak to a loyal and lasting relationship that spans generations and continues to grow year after year. Each gift received, no matter the size, makes a difference to our students and the future success.

“Giving of oneself is in the DNA of Furman University and its students, faculty and alumni. If we don’t do everything we can to encourage the next generation to accomplish more than us, then we aren’t living up to our legacy.”
— Joseph Warden ’68

The Furman Promise

Our next challenge includes a continued dedication to the students, alumni and others who support us. Those relationships are strong at Furman, and they remain so because of the attention we pay to building them. Because it all starts with the students, we have spent the past year working on more ways to give them a running start to their goals. The final stretch of the campaign will focus on scholarships:

Our next focus is to address the financial aid gap that exists for many students. The ability to learn and grow without the specter of debt after graduation is paramount to success. This initiative intends to allow us to bridge that gap for qualified students and ensure that they have access to a premier education and The Furman Advantage.

Stay tuned as we expand this initiative over the next few years and, with the support of our most engaged community members, put the university and its students in a position to achieve at the highest level now and in the future.

“Scholarships allowed me to go into adulthood with the freedom to learn how I could best give back, not how I could make the most money to pay back loans. When you remove that barrier, there is no limit to what a student can accomplish.”
