John W. Parks IV, a 1993 Furman University music alumnus, has received Florida State University’s 2019 Distinguished Teacher Award. Parks is only the third College of Music faculty member to receive FSU’s most prestigious honor for teaching. He joined the FSU faculty in 2003 and was promoted to full professor in 2016.
