We are excited that you have decided to attend Furman! To confirm your spot at our university, please complete the following steps by the appropriate deadline. As a reminder, you will need your Furman network credentials to complete a number of these tasks, which you will receive in May.

Take the first step to enrolling at Furman. Submit our Statement of Intent form along with a $500 deposit. By signing this statement and paying the deposit, you are making a commitment to enroll at Furman. The deposit will be refunded, less any fees owed to the university, once you have graduated. Sign the form and pay the deposit electronically, or you may send a check and printed form to:

Learn about the technology resources available at Furman and get your computer ready to access the campus network by reviewing our technology orientation.
You will receive your network credentials in mid-May. Once you’ve received your credentials, you should log into Workday Student and begin working through your onboarding tasks!
You will receive your ID when you check into housing on move-in day in the fall.

The information you provide in the New Student Survey will help Furman assign you an initial academic advisor who will work with you as a new student. In order to access the survey, you will need to use your Furman ID number and network credentials, which you will receive in mid-May.
The deadline to complete the survey is June 1.
Furman has a four-year residential housing requirement, though we do offer off-campus exemptions to those students who meet specific criteria. For those students who will live on-campus, we encourage you to learn about our residential facilities.
The Earle Student Health Center requires several tasks be completed in order remain compliant while a student at Furman. Click here to learn more about creating your MyChart account and completing the health and immunization questionnaire. The deadline for completing these tasks is June 15.
Note: Students who have not completed these tasks may not be able to register for fall semester courses.
At Furman, you’re required to complete a foreign language sequence. If you have studied French, German or Spanish before, speak one of these languages at home, or have lived for an extended period in a country where one of these languages is spoken, you’ll need to take our online placement test before registering for fall courses.
If you’ve studied Latin or Chinese in the past, be sure to complete our test specifically designed for those languages.
Placement exams for Japanese may be completed during Fall Orientation.
The deadline for completing your language placement exam is June 15.

The Furman University Police Department oversees the vehicle registration and bicycle registration processes. Vehicle registration for the 2022-2023 Academic Year will be available in August.
We have joined a number of the nation’s top schools in offering “Get Inclusive” as a component of our alcohol and sexual assault prevention initiative. Whether you abstain from alcohol or not, this program will help you make well-informed decisions about alcohol. You will receive an email in August with further instructions on how to complete this step.

First-year & new transfer students will move in on Thursday, August 18th. Furman offers a hybrid approach to acclimating students to academics and college life—Summer Orientation and Fall Orientation. All students, including transfer students, are required to attend Fall Orientation. Learn more about Fall Orientation.
