This program, originally funded through our Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) grant 2008-2012 and NIH-INBRE and NSF-EPSCoR grants from 2015-2025, has provided over 100 individual research experiences for teachers from throughout the state of South Carolina. Typically STEM teachers would engage in a an intensive 6-week research experience (~40 hours/week) under the direction of SC STEM professor and utilize supplies funding to link their summer experience to their curricular instruction. Funding for this initiative ran through Summer 2025 and our office is no longer coordinating this statewide program.
