The Center for Engaged Learning and The Furman Advantage

The Furman Advantage guarantees every student an unparalleled education that combines classroom learning with real-world experiences and self-discovery. This integrated four-year pathway, guided by a diverse community of mentors, prepares students for lives of purpose and accelerated career and community impact—demonstrating in concrete terms the value of a Furman education. The Center for Engaged Learning supports the mission of the Furman Advantage by providing opportunities for Furman students to engage with their communities and beyond through Internships, Study Away, and Undergraduate Research. Learn more about how these experiences fit into the four-year pathway.

Our Internship office works with students to assist them with finding and competing for internships that fit within their academic pathway at Furman. In addition, Internship staff assist students with important skills such as resume and cover letter writing, interviewing, and networking. Fellowship funding is also available for low or unpaid, full-time summer internships.

For more information, including the advantage internships provide for professional development and growth, contact us so we may help you explore the opportunities available during both the academic year and summer.
