The Furman Advantage to me is being able to create your own path and dreams and being supported by Furman every step of the way. The Furman Advantage to me is definitely undeniable support and resources from my institution.
With the Furman Advantage, I have been able to step outside of my comfort zone, travel the world, learn a new language, and apply concepts that I learned in the classroom to real-life situations.
The Student Opportunity Center specializes in compiling research and publication opportunities for undergraduates. Register with your Furman email address to gain access. On the upper right-hand side under your name choose “student app” and a search bar will show up at the top. The SOC has a host of pre-populated search words that you can choose from in a drop-down box. You will then see on the left-hand side the kinds of opportunities you can choose from—conferences, publications, off-campus research/internships and funding/scholarships.
