A Furman education is so much more than just learning in a classroom. Furman opens the doors for a variety of high-impact real-world experiences. One key experience Furman provides is a wide range of internship opportunities. Through Furman alumni connections, the Malone Center for Career Engagement, and the Furman Internship Office, students are able to use Furman-provided resources to identify opportunities for internships all over the world.

My Summer 2022 Internship ExperienceNAIEF — Commercial Housing Solutions

This past summer, I interned with NAI Earle Furman Commercial Real Estate firm located in Downtown Greenville, SC. I was able to identify this opportunity through the Furman Internship database provided by the Internship Office. Upon applying for this internship, I was able to see the magic of Furman connections through meeting the many Furman Alumni who are now full-time with the firm. Through this internship, I was able to focus on learning the different facets of commercial real estate and the myriad of service offerings of NAI Earle Furman. The program consisted of daily classroom-styled discussion along with real-world application including showings of listings and assisting with the underwriting process.

Elizabeth Yeager — Greenville Triumph

Elizabeth Yeager is a senior Economics and Politics double major. This summer she was an intern with the Greenville Triumph soccer team in Downtown Greenville, SC as a Marketing and Community Development Intern. She identified this internship through Furman’s internship database. Throughout the summer, Elizabeth was making marketing plans, working events, and connecting with players and community members.

“I loved my time at the Triumph this summer! I learned about the complexities of event planning and maintained a community-driven approach to marketing actions” – Elizabeth Yeager

Brooke Dominiak — Adobe

Brooke Dominiak is a senior Design Innovation and Communications Studies double major, and she was able to experience a hybrid-style summer internship with the Adobe Sales Academy this summer. While the internship was partially remote, she was able to travel to San Jose, California and spend a month working for Adobe in-person in the heart of the Silicon Valley. Throughout the summer, Brooke worked with companies like Edible Arrangements, Hasbro, Cliff Bars, and Campbell’s Soup to create their accounts with Adobe. From the Adobe Sales Academy, Brooke was able to build upon her networking, prospecting, researching, and cold calling skills. This experience led to Brooke being offered a full-time job with Adobe after graduation at their San Francisco office as a Business Development Representative.

Josh Swope – Furman Admissions

Josh Swope is a senior Communication Studies major at Furman, and this summer, he interned right on Furman’s campus in the Admissions Office. As a part of the internship, Josh was able to share experiences on a daily student panel as well as lead campus tours for prospective students and their families. Josh identified the internship through building connections in the internship office, and during his experience, Josh was able to learn the ins and outs of the college admissions process through case studies and daily connections with admissions counselors and prospective students and parents.

“I absolutely loved my time as an admissions intern with Furman. From making the guests laugh on my tours to making unforgettable friends and memories, I have grown a lot both professionally and personally.” – Josh Swope
