Our Modern Language Center (MLC) provides a comfortable, relaxed space for students to practice and share their language skills with other students and faculty. The MLC serves as an innovative classroom space for creative learning strategies devised by faculty who can reserve the room for their classes. When not being used by students and faculty for a classroom setting, students are welcome to use the space to study, hang out and meet new friends. We have snacks, drinks, games and puzzles for you to enjoy.
Student groups use our space to hold conversation groups and activities in Chinese, French, German, Japanese, and Spanish. Our MLC Student Associates are language majors who have been hired for their language skills to work with other students. They are ready to help students for drop in tutoring Mondays-Thursdays in the afternoon and early evening hours by answering questions, clarifying concepts, and helping students practice speaking and writing.
MLC Student Associates also host cultural events for students to attend. Specific language tutoring hours and cultural events will be posted to social media and on signage outside of the MLC.
