Interested in a career in art criticism? Graphic illustration? Museum studies? At Furman, you can tailor your degree to prepare you for any job in the arts. Our studio art majors can choose from electives that include book arts, photography, and graphic design, while our research-heavy art history program trains students to be strong writers. Upperclassmen—and even some underclassmen—are assigned private loft spaces, providing an individual workspace to allow the creative juices flow. And the faculty-to-student ratio provides attention and collaboration unavailable at larger schools.

With a talented faculty, top-notch facilities and studios, a foundation in the liberal arts, and exciting opportunities to hone your skills through study away, research and internships, Furman’s art program will prepare you for any artistic endeavor.
