Former South Carolina state senator Vincent Sheheen offers a clear, engaging look at how South Carolina’s state government works—and why it matters—in his recently published book, A Concise Guide to South Carolina State Government. Drawing on his firsthand experience in the state legislature and stories of influential South Carolina political leaders, Sheheen breaks down the history, structure, and decision-making processes that shape life in the Palmetto State. This event is designed for students and community members who want to better understand state government and become more informed, engaged citizens. A reception and book signing will follow the event.
