K.N.O.W. Before You Go

K.N.O.W. Before You Go is a youth-centered, data-driven, community-based program that provides in-depth sessions on practical topics for transition to adulthood from local partners and experts. The project was piloted in the underserved community of Lancaster, South Carolina and provided sessions to students in the Lancaster Promise Neighborhood (LPN), a nonprofit focused on “cradle to career” support for the most economically disadvantaged areas of the county. Within one week of after-school sessions, 36 LPN students participated in workshops on physical and mental health (partnership with the YMCA), virtual reality career exploration (partnership with Transfr VR, Catawba Regional Council of Governments, Leroy Springs & Company, Lunch Time Investments LLC, and York County Regional Chamber), and financial literacy (partnership with Founders Federal Credit Union).
