Grand Connections is an intergenerational community engagement project developed to intentionally connect older adults and high school-aged youth through storytelling, mentorship, and digital media creation. The project was implemented in partnership with the Orangeburg County Council on Aging, Orangeburg County School District, and The Riley Institute.

The initiative addressed two growing community concerns: social isolation among older adults and emotional disconnection among youth. By creating structured opportunities for conversation and collaboration, the project promoted empathy, relationship-building, and stronger community connections.

The project was developed in response to increasing concerns surrounding loneliness, isolation, and the lack of meaningful intergenerational engagement opportunities within the community.
