The Carolina Campus Cupboard Project focuses on addressing food insecurity across South Carolina’s technical colleges by implementing a comprehensive needs assessment and piloting sustainable solutions. This team developed a statewide survey to evaluate student and staff needs—many of which have not been assessed since COVID-19—and is concurrently working to establish a more accessible, dignified food pantry at Florence-Darlington Technical College. By redesigning the pantry into a visible, welcoming space, this project aims to reduce stigma and create a replicable model that other technical colleges can use to better support students facing food insecurity.
