Bill’s Walkabouts

“Where would you go if you were homeless tonight?”

Each night in Upstate South Carolina there are hundreds of individuals and families that have no place to call home. Bill’s Walkabouts partnered with the Upstate Homeless Coalition (UHC) to present an evening program to highlight the issues of homelessness in the Upstate.

UHC is an organization that provides transitional and permanent housing for individuals and families, and assists individuals with the educational and practical skills necessary to maintain housing. Bill’s Walkabouts worked with UHC to identify several areas where UHC could become more effective and developed several resources for UHC to use in the community.

Group members developed a multimedia presentation that will allow UHC to more effectively deliver presentations around the community and also held a forum for business and community leaders to more effectively learn about the mission for UHC. In addition, Bill’s Walkabouts were able to make a monetary contribution to UHC, which was matched by a corporate sponsor.
