Summertime is fun time at OLLI @ Furman! This is a great time to try a new class, whether it’s history, writing or photography. Get outside for a hike, or spend an afternoon learning about space exploration. Annual membership is not required to enjoy our summer courses, so it is an perfect opportunity to explore the OLLI @ Furman program. All summer courses are $35 unless otherwise noted, and Friday Bonus Events are FREE . You may register online beginning Tuesday, May 3, at 8 a.m. or complete the registration form and mail it to our office. The Summer22 Registration Form can be found online HERE or you may stop by the OLLI office to pick one up. Invite a friend and join us!
OLLI@Furman COVID / Masking Updates
Given updated CDC guidance regarding indoor mask requirements, the high vaccination and booster rates of the campus community, and the substantial decline of COVID cases in the Greenville area, Furman University, including OLLI, will move to “masks optional” in all indoor locations on campus, including academic spaces, effective Saturday, March 5. We are supportive of OLLI members and instructors who choose to continue to wear masks, and individuals should not be questioned about their decision, nor should they be discouraged or prohibited from wearing them.
Additionally, food is now permitted in the Herring Center, so plan to bring your lunch on Tuesdays for Lunch & Learn. Members can also enjoy the return of our OLLI Coffee Bar!
Campus access has REOPENED to the public including the Furman Libraries, The PalaDen food court, The Dining Hall and the Paddock Restaurant. We will continue to update our members in OLLI Notes on campus events, openings and adjustments as we are notified by the university. You may choose to visit the Furman Focused COVID dashboard HERE to find more information and updates. We hope you are excited for the upcoming term and a return to a Herring Center that feels new, yet more like that which we all fondly remember!
