Straighttalk Series

The Riley Institute and the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute partner annually to bring StraightTalk to Furman and the broader community. This three-part weekly series includes high-profile speakers, academicians and practitioners who have on-the-ground experience with issues of relevance to all Americans. The events include speakers who present diverse perspectives, whether they represent different political parties; government at local, state, and federal levels; small-scale to multinational non-governmental organizations; or traditionally marginalized voices in the series topic. All have credible information to share with the audience, and their presentations inspire thought and engagement with the critical issues of our time.
