Title: Vendor Network Access Policy

Background: The University has vendors that wish to support devices on the campus network from off campus. In order to properly secure and protect the campus network, the University has established a secure remote access system for vendors that have a contractual relationship with the university.
Policy: Vendor access to the Furman University campus network, servers, and devices on the campus network from off campus, is only available to vendors with a contractual relationship with Furman University.
Guidelines:
- Vendor remote access to devices on the Furman data network is only available through the Furman secure remote support system.
- Information Technology Services will provide terms for Furman network access as a contract addendum to the vendor’s contract with the University.
- If a vendor requires network access for a vendor managed device, the vendor may choose to use the Furman network, or cellular data service; vendor services may not be accessible to both. The vendor will be responsible for all cellular data costs and support.
- Exceptions to the network access terms must be approved by the Chief Information Officer.
