As speculation swirls about who Donald Trump might choose to be his running mate should he win the GOP nomination, Ewan Palmer of Newsweek reaches out to Furman University’s Danielle Vinson for comment. Vinson, Furman alumna and professor of politics and international affairs, doesn’t see former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley as a likely pick for second chair. She suggests Haley would find it difficult to sit idly by while Trump executes plans and actions that may run contrary to the Constitution. She also adds that Haley has already postured herself for a future run for president even if she doesn’t win the nomination in 2024.
