In a Newsweek article, Furman University’s Danielle Vinson comments on a Fox News voter analysis that predicts the outcome of the 2024 presidential election. Newsweek’s Ewan Palmer spoke to Vinson, a politics and international affairs professor, following Nikki Hayley’s decision to bow out of the race. The analysis suggests that unless Donald Trump sweeps all who voted for Haley in the primaries, Trump will lose and Joe Biden will be reelected in November. Vinson asserts that Haley voters will not behave in “monolithic way” in the upcoming election and can be grouped into three categories – those who wish to block Biden’s reelection, the “never Trump” contingent, and non-voters or those who might vote for an independent candidate.
