Furman University’s Emily Schuck is quoted in Inside Higher Education about the impacts of FAFSA delays on admissions offices, students and families. Schuck, vice president for enrollment management, noted that Furman was poised early to address some of the delays by employing the College Scholarship Service Profile for the first time. The CSS Profile allows institutions to estimate student aid packages without federal data. Still, she mentioned that other services like predicting revenue and planning orientation will be a challenge. But she added students will be shouldering most of the burden. “While this puts stress on institutions, it’s going to be much harder for students,” she said. “It’s up to us to clear this muddy path for them.”
