Furman University psychology alumna Cindy Watson ’79 is featured in a story about her advocacy work with LGBTQ+ youth. Beth Reese Cravey, a reporter for the Jacksonville Florida Times-Union, pays tribute to the executive director and CEO of JASMYN, the Jacksonville Area Sexual Minority Youth Network. Watson, who will retire from the nonprofit after 30 years, describes JASMYN’s work as a liberation journey, both for herself and the community it serves. Under her leadership, the organization now provides a safe space for 1,000 members of the LGBTQ+ community per year.
