Ahead of the third GOP debate set for Nov. 8 in Miami, Furman University’s Danielle Vinson, a professor of politics and international affairs, spoke to Florida Phoenix about Nikki Haley’s rise in the polls. Vinson said she is not surprised by Haley’s steady rise and attributes her success to quick thinking and her ability to address issues (including abortion) in an accessible, nuanced manner.
