Furman named Nonprofit of the Year by the Upstate SC LGBT+ Chamber of Commerce

An eight-side glass award.Furman University was named Nonprofit of the Year by the Upstate SC LGBT+ Chamber of Commerce. A group of Furman faculty and staff accepted the award on the university’s behalf on Oct. 5 during the Pride in Business Awards Gayla, an event celebrating the individuals and businesses that are making a positive difference in the community.

“Your dedication to fostering an inclusive and empowering business environment exemplifies the values that our Chamber holds dear,” said Tyler Prescott, CEO of the Upstate SC LGBT+ Chamber of Commerce.

“We love the work Furman does to support the next generation of entrepreneurs, diverse leaders, and your LGBTQ staff, and students. Your outstanding contributions to the business community have not gone unnoticed, and we are thrilled to honor your achievements.”
