Furman hosts interested students from 190 high schools
High school students from 21 different states are bound for Furman University on Saturday for Fall for Furman, a chance for interested students to tour with current students, talk with faculty and tailgate and attend a Paladin football game. For 149 students, this Fall for Furman will be their very first Furman event, said Elizabeth Hawthorne Martin, director of recruitment.

The event offers each visiting student one-on-one time with their admissions counselors. For students still deciding whether to apply, this visit lets them see if Furman is the right fit; for those who are confident Furman is their pick, they can “envision life as a Paladin and gather helpful application insights,” Martin said. Furman’s students are eager to meet prospective Paladins; nearly 80 are helping make this event happen.
