Team USA’s FIFA World Cup run is over, but after the squad’s 1-nil win over Iran, Garden and Gun magazine took the opportunity to highlight a couple of Nashville SC defenders, one of them a Furman University alumnus and Men’s Soccer standout – Walker Zimmerman ’15 of Lawrenceville, Georgia. His teammate, Shaq Moore, also hails from the Peach State.

Both are described by Nashville SC general manager Mike Jacobs as “the best players in their positions in Major League Soccer.” About Zimmerman, Jacobs said, “He’s competitive and combative – what you look for in a leader.”
