Food insecurity nationwide reached 10.5% in 2019 – and that was before the pandemic. A joint effort among Furman University’s Shi Institute for Sustainable Communities, Furman’s Institute for the Advancement of Community Health, and LiveWell Greenville is highlighted in GVLToday to show the degree of food insecurity in Greenville County. The groups partnered to create an interactive map that shows what communities are at most risk in the county to better target assistance for those in need.
