Srinivasan brings Furman to the forefront
On the heels of winning the Division I PING Women’s Golf Coaches Association National Player of the Year, Furman University’s Natalie Srinivasan ’20 has won the 2020 Golfweek ANNIKA Award, which recognizes the nation’s most outstanding female collegiate golfer. News of Friday’s award, which reflects a vote by peers, coaches, golf media, and sports information directors, appeared in Golfweek magazine, was announced live on the Golf Channel by the award’s namesake, and was picked up by The Greenville News.
Since it was established in 2014, the award went to players at UCLA and Duke during the first four years. Maria Fassi of University of Arkansas won the crown in 2018 and 2019. Noting Furman’s historical success in women’s golf from Betsy King to Beth Daniel to Dottie Pepper, Srinivasan, a health sciences graduate, said, “It’s awesome to put Furman back on the map.” Read more about her career in a Furman News article.
