Overcoming legal barriers

At 18, Ben Waddell needed his parents, and they needed a legal lifeline. That is when Greenville’s Medical Legal Partnership (MLP) stepped in to help out. The MLP, created in 2016 through a partnership with Furman, the Greenville Health System and South Carolina Legal Services, works to improve health outcomes for people living in poverty throughout the Upstate. Kirby Mitchell, a 1990 Furman graduate, is an attorney with South Carolina Legal Services who is designated fulltime to the Greenville MLP. You can read more in The Greenville News.
