“Mean Girls”

Mary-Mitchell Campbell, a 1996 Furman graduate, is music director for the new Broadway play, “Mean Girls.” The musical, adapted from Tina Fey’s 2004 film, opened on April 8. You can read more about the production in Playbill.

Campbell is well known on Broadway, having prepared orchestrations for “Sweet Charity” and provding musical direction for “Kristin Chenoweth: My Love Letter to Broadway.” She has also lent music direction and orchestrations to “Tuck Everlasting,” “Finding Neverland,” “Company” (Drama Desk Award win for Orchestrations), and “Allegro” (Drama Desk Award nomination for Orchestrations), among many others. She was honored with the Transporting American Theatre Award at its annual gala in 2017. Campbell’s numerous philanthropic efforts include her founding of ASTEP—Artists Striving to End Poverty.
